47-Plus Diesel Duck

Another new DUCK is coming. The 47-Plus is being designed for a guy in Israel. Work is happening now on her but meanwhile, here's how she's turning out. She shows her heritage of the 462 and the 41-Plus proudly!

The basic ship, no fly bridge, but a nice cockpit. A remote auto pilot allows you to roam the whole deck and drive so the flybridge isn't really needed. You can stand on the roof and drive into tight places, using the cable system of the auto-pilot. If you dare of course!

The above may be true but just the same, I like a flybridge and would almost certainly have it!

Here's how I'd set her up. This interior would be a great liveaboard both for cruising or at the dock!

Here she is flush decked forward. I gave her fwd. deck a 1" rise to foot of beam to give the same headroom and wide sole as the version above has. This is certainly a rugged looking ship but in practice, the deckhouse version, when built of steel, is just a strong, gets more light inside, and is actually easier to get around on deck because you have the handrail on top of the house.

Here she is again with a vertical front wall on the house. Like the goofy stern, I'm afraid I've become used to the fwd. slope pilot house windows and now like the look. Hey, did you ever dream you'd like the look of a '59 Caddie of Chevy? I like them these days too!
